about

ROAMANCE 001

Lisa Frank & Rez Ekbatan's WHISPER is a spring/summer release paying homage to the early-mid 1990s club sounds of Electro Bass, Miami Bass and Freestyle. Erotic ASMR vocals are whispered throughout the track, and background filler features live recorded sounds from South Beach.

Remixes by Ariel Zetina, Jasmine Infiniti, Jett Chandon, Juana, Outputmessage and TonalTheory.

Early artist support from --
· The Black Madonna: "I look forward to playing it!"
· Ambivalent: "I like the music a lot- really nice beat in the original, and my favorite remixes are the ones from Juana and Ariel Zetina."
· Jason Kendig [Honey Soundsystem]: "Great work on the the original. Very funky and I like the whispers. :) Really love the Outputmessage remix. Super wonky but groovy. The Juana remix is inline with what I like to play out. Ariel did a dope remix too."
· DJ Three: "Put some previews up already." (Big thank you to DJ Three for being one of the first to preorder this album)
· Matt Nordstrom: "Release sounds awesome! Outputmessage mix is probably my favorite of the bunch but also really dig the original and Jett Chandon one. Excellent work and congrats again!"
· Chris Richards [Washington Post Pop Music Critic]: "Great tune!" (original)
· DJ Anna Morgan: "Super sick tune." (original)
· John Barera [Jack Dept NYC, Elsewhere]: "Loving the single. It's really unique and thats sadly uncommon in dance music a lot of the time. I love the vocals and the rhythm and feel of it and how they work together. Great job!"

Early press support from:
· DJ Mag: "‘Whisper’ is a collaboration between Lisa Frank and fellow D.C. producer Rez Ekbatan. They describe the tracks as an 'homage to the early-mid 1990s club sounds of Miami Bass, Atlanta Bass and Freestyle.' It’s a fitting ode, with enough distinct flare to give it a life of its own, its whispered vocals and buzzsaw bass making for a sharp, gripping listen.

The track comes paired with six killer remixes from Ariel Zetina, Juana, Jasmine Infiniti, TonalTheory, Outputmessage and Jett Chandon." -Eoin Murray, 3/22/19

· Resident Advisor: "Washington DC party ROAM is launching their new ROAMANCE label with a single from founder Lisa Frank and local Rez Ekbatan, and it includes a host of great remixes, including this stripped-down-and-deadly house rework, centering the 'erotic ASMR vocals.'" -Andrew Ryce, 3/25/19
