TonalTheory’s Distorted Mind EP is a winter release that combines eerie ambience and static-infused vocals with unconventional distortion of the hardware elements that strive to create their message.

TonalTheory on the meaning behind the production:

We are in often times left with chaotic thoughts that seem to have lost their way. Amidst of these constantly revolving dilemmas and “Distorted Mind”, we try to find balance and maintain sanity through healthy lifestyles. This is where we gather our thoughts and try to make sense of organized chaos that we live in.

“It’s Your Perception” provides more structure as it brings forth the vision that everything we feel is only in our perception. As the voice echoes “Remain Calm,” we will continue to move forward with perseverance and composure as long as we do not allow the internal struggle to consume us.

“Alone in December”, chases the haunted feelings of unusual and uncomfortable loneliness and solitude in December with ambient and dark atmospheric elements and wanted our audience to look for tracks like this one and find rays of hope as melodic elements fill the gaps that we feel empty. It evolves around the idea that even though these feelings may consume us from time to time, in the end there’s still brightness and warmth to be found. It’s only us who can fill this gap or we are left behind as the track trails off.
